Panto season is almost upon us… Oh no it isn’t! Oh yes it is!
There’s less than 50 days to go until Christmas Day, which means that it’s almost time for presents, carols, mince pies and, of course, the traditional festive pantomime. Pantomime in Britain traces its roots back to the Middle Ages where a “Mummers Play” – based on the legend of St George and the Dragon – would be performed at Christmas gatherings. Today, the quirky and quintessentially British form of theatre is as popular as ever and is an important Christmas activity for many families. This year Quaytickets are delighted to be working on three of the North West’s finest pantomime productions in some of the region’s most-loved theatres. Which one takes your fancy?
